Planar 3 RS Vinyl System – The Rega Record Player, Amplified by Rega

The Planar 3 RS arrives with the Nd5 cartridge already fitted and needs a phono stage; the Brio MK7 has a dedicated MM stage built for exactly that cartridge family. The Opticon 2 MK2 finishes the chain with a 6.5-inch woofer that gives records real scale.

In This Setup

• Rega Planar 3 RS (Aluminum) – belt-drive turntable with a brushed-aluminium HPL plinth, RB330 tonearm, factory-fitted Nd5 MM cartridge, 12 mm float glass platter, double-brace technology and the Neo MK2 power supply with electronic 33⅓/45 switching; dust cover included.
• Rega Brio MK7 – integrated amplifier with 50 W per channel into 8 Ω (72 W into 4 Ω), dedicated MM phono stage, 3 line inputs, coaxial and optical inputs through the built-in DAC, a front headphone output and mini remote.
• DALI Opticon 2 MK2 (pair) – 2-way bookshelf speakers with a 6.5-inch wood-fibre SMC woofer, 29 mm soft-dome tweeter and dual-flare ports; 59 Hz-25 kHz (±3 dB), 4 Ω, recommended 30-150 W, hand-assembled in Denmark. In Black Satin, White Satin or Tobacco.

Why This Combination

• Cartridge to phono stage: the Nd5 is a moving magnet cartridge and the Brio MK7 has a dedicated MM input - no separate preamp.
• Power where it counts: 72 W per channel into the 4 Ω Opticon 2 MK2.
• One upgrade path: both Rega pieces are designed together; the deck accepts later Rega cartridge upgrades.

Set price includes all three products; speaker cable sold separately.
